...here's a good way to make up for those of us who missed the WMC this year:
Friday & Saturday nights Armin van Buuren will be rocking Roseland Ballroom
AND
BLKMarket Membership, our resident savior, presents MOBILEE Showcase headlining the whole crew of Anja Schneider, Sebo K and Pan Pot on Saturday night. Pan-pot will be going on for long hours for their extended set; and among our favorites - Taimur & Fahad, will be opening up the evening.
Who needs their brains rocked out?!
Check out RA for tickets and don't forget to RSVP to the BLKMarket Membership to find out the secret location of the party.
hush hush - but I hear the party is in SoHo this time

French Tuesday's missing the French.
So it's Thursday so you might be wondering why we're talking about Tuesday. Well recently, I had the chance to attend a French Tuesday party were one could experience everything that isn't French. Wine or cheese weren't on the list neither was good French ambient/electro which was overridden by flamenco and salsa. However the point of this post isn't to ridicule French Tuesday's but rather to tip my hat to those French musicians who are an import to be cherished.
A recent favorite that shouldn't be passed is Saycet, which forms a beautiful bridge between "The Album Leaf" and "M83" (Also french? great scott!). Their new album "Through the Window" surely flows in a much softer direction, making it feel like a soft towel that just came out of the dryer put around your head. Almost preparing you for the soft spring breeze's that will flow through your window in the days to come.
Check out their myspace
I know we've already posted about saycet featuring opal but they definitely deserver more attention.

A deep cut can never feel so good.
Going back even further in time, I remember working till the morning in denmark waiting for the sun come up only to see that it really doesn't come up. Imagine the disappointment! Now in the background add the most popular Scandinavian electro you can think of. No , I'm not talking about røyskopp. It does give whole different "edge" to the whole situation. Turning the melancholy and fatigue into a minimal tattoo that you carry on with your soul.
I've yet to see these gals live but I know it would be one hell of a show.

Put on your headphones
Recently I was reminded of the incredible set that took place 2 years ago at Cielo NY by Trentemoller. As the Danish disk jockey extraordinaire took the table he mixed the deep bass driven tunes to the pulsating LED's on the walls.
My wish is for more artists to revive Cielo from the decline it's fallen into and also just melt our bones.

smooth like electro -trance on a Thursday
Nothing like getting hit in the face with a smooth eclectic beat from france on a thursday afternoon.
sayCet is the culprit today. As the minimal beats flow with the smooth vocals you feel a certain serenity coming down. Though this serenity will do a lot more than make you want to sleep.
Thanks to Opalowsky for the brilliant remix.
Check it out. Saycet - Opal (Error :: Love - Opalowsky Remix)

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
I heard the album just today, after stumbling upon the NPR link - thanks to my friend Robin. I've been telling myself, "spring is around the corner, almost here, almost almost...!" for the past 3 days, and today my self-pep-talk proved to be more than just wishful thinking and optimism: my wish came true. Regardless of the fact that it's supposed to snow tomorrow in NYC, this new Gorillaz album marks the beginning of spring for me, and it should for you too! many new collaborations with Snoop, Mos Def to the Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music and Lou Reed - Plastic Beach feels like a cup of jungle juice served in a red plastic cup. I liked it, especially since I haven't had any for the past 5 years! After this one cup, I may go back to old habits ;)
